We were in Beatrice to visit Southeast Community College and stopped by as we were headed out of town. Playa Azul is located at 2102 N 6th St, Beatrice, NE 68310. I’d classify it as a dive location, but that isn’t a bad thing. There are lots of dives that have really great food. There is a reason that “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” is a thing.

We were happily surprised by our visit. There was plenty of seating in the establishment and though there was an older feel, it was fine. One of the cool things was their SpongeBob themed fish tank. It had the Krusty Krab, the pineapple and Squidward’s Moai. That was cool for a big kid like me, and I was sad that I forgot to take a picture before we left.
Playa came through for us with the tasty eats. The rice was seasoned so well and was delicious. All the main items were good, had nice flavor, and we thought it was a solid choice. Everyone enjoyed the guacamole. There was something different about it, but we couldn’t figure out what it was. My youngest didn’t order her own meal, so she was digging in on this appetizer.
My margarita came out super-fast and oh did I enjoy this. It was lovely! Smooth and sweet just like me. Lol. I could have had three or four of those things and at $2.75 I probably should have, but we had to hit the road.
I was amazed by how affordable this place was. 3 meals, an order of guacamole and 1 margarita for only $31. I don’t know anywhere else that I’ve been that can compare to the bang for your buck at Playa Azul. If you’re ever in town, give them a try. We should all know by now that you can’t judge a book by its cover, and this was another example of that.

No complaints about the service. I mentioned that the margarita came out quickly. The food seemed to take a little bit to come out, but that might have just been the fact that we weren’t ready to order right away. All in all, we were satisfied.
I give Playa Azul 4 Fatties. Have you been? If so, what do you think?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my thoughts on food. You are amazing!
